Framo Pumps & Subsea Systems

Framo Engineering started developing multiphase pump systems in the late 1980s. The initial approach focused on trial testing of various pump concepts like twin screw and piston pumps, before finally deciding on the dynamic pumping principle called the helico-axial design which was developed by IFP, Total and Statoil.

As the undisputed world leader within the supply of subsea boosting systems, Framo can today supply pump systems which incorporate all the equipment necessary for integration with subsea production systems, and which can be safely operated from topside SCADA systems via the variable speed drives and pump control systems located in dedicated Power and Control Modules (PCM), or in local equipment rooms.

The multi-discipline capabilities of Framo Engineering ensure technical knowledge and control of all elements involved, from pump internals to the electric drive and control system, and from development and conceptual phases to commercially available solutions, including life-of-field support. This is ensured by the simple fact that total responsibility of components, as well as the complete pump system, rests with one company.
