Health, Safety and Environment

Our long-term business success is a result of our ability to continually improve the quality of our products and services while protecting human life and the environment, together with the interests of our community.

HSE Management has a clear responsibility and leadership role in communicating and demonstrating compliance to both our policies and our Quality and HSE Management System (QHSEMS).

We require, expect and encourage the active commitment and contribution to our QHSE policies and the QHSEMS by all employees both as individuals and as a team. We see it as imperative that focus be maintained on safe operations throughout the planning, preparation and performance of activities, in order to avoid, or reduce the consequence and probability of risks, to a level that is as low as is practically possible.

Active monitoring and control, combined with feedback from processes, suppliers and customers, ensure that improvements are continually being made.

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The core of our QHSE Management System is:
• COMPLIANCE TO REQUIREMENTS
• CUSTOMER FOCUS
• CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT
HSE-related incidents, accidents and events can be eliminated, and risk must be reduced to the lowest possible practical level.
To protect the health and safety of personnel and the environment, the following priorities are enforced, and overrule any other pending argument:
  • THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF PERSONNEL
  • THE ENVIRONMENT
  • OBLIGATIONS TO THE CUSTOMER AND OTHER PARTIES

This policy is in place not to limit or stop us from carrying out work, but rather to be used as a tool to guide it, so that ultimately all aspects of it can benefit.

HSE OBJECTIVES
The policy stated above is to be used in reaching our HSE objectives:

  • The absence of work-related injuries or illnesses causing long-term consequences or the reduction of quality of life
  • The absence of accidents or incidents arising due to either working conditions, operations or human interaction, ultimately resulting in the loss of time
  • No spills, discharges or emissions causing long-term consequences to the environment
